Holman Insurance Brokers Ltd. has been providing insurance and related services to the passenger transportation industry for over 20 years. Insurance for driver training schools and fleets are our specialty. We are trained to provide the highest quality customer service and offer solutions for the insurance needs of our driver training school customers. As an independent broker, we have access to most of the major insurance companies writing insurance for driver training schools, taxicabs, motor coaches, entertainment coaches, city transit buses, limousines, airport shuttle services, and school buses. We are constantly developing new programs and services to provide better protection.

Holman Insurance Brokers Ltd. prides itself on building a partnership with our customers. It is through this partnership that we are able to specifically target needs, develop solutions, and make recommendations to our customers. We are capable of creating a comprehensive insurance program for the owner/operator to the largest fleets. Categories of coverage include Automobile liability, Garage liability, Property coverage, Physical damage, and General liability.

When it comes to service, meeting regulatory and statute requirements in a hurry is our specialty. Accurately completed Certificates of Insurance must be provided to regulatory bodies within hours or even minutes. Another unique requirement for taxicab insurance is also looking after the interests of drivers, lienholders, plate owners and various other interested parties.

When it comes to paying the premium we are able to arrange cost effective Premium Financing to help our clients meet their cash flow. This is particularly important for large fleets that have a seasonal business.

Insurance for driver training schools is similar to private passenger auto with the exception of a few specially required endorsements as follows:

Driver Training School – OPCF#6D
This endorsement extends your policy coverage to give permission for the vehicle to be used for driver training school purposes and extends the liability section of the policy to provide coverage in respect of the insured’s liability for bodily injury to student drivers/observers. The liability limit provided in respect of road hazard is to be repeated in the endorsement against both “any one person” and “two or more persons”.

Limiting the Amount Paid for Loss or Damage Coverages – OPCF#19
In the event of an insured loss, the maximum about of insurance under the physical damage section is limited to a specified amount or Actual Cash Value (ACV) whichever is less.

Damage to Property of Passengers - OPCF #22
This endorsement provides coverage for passengers’ own property. Limits are available up to $5,000 per vehicle.

Fire and Theft Deductible - OPCF #40
In the event of a fire or theft loss the applicable deductible would apply,

Downtime Limitation Side Agreement
This endorsement provides coverage for loss of use of the vehicle in the event of an insured loss.

Pricing
Many of our clients want to know how their premium is determined. There are a number of factors to be considered as follows:

Premiums are developed based on the class of business and the experience of the individual or fleet. Additional credits are available for certain loss control procedures that can reduce or minimize loss experience.

The loss control procedures of fleet operators are considered. These include the following:

Auto Accident Review
A review procedure to review all incidents and should include driver performance evaluations and corrective actions taken.

Auto Safety Program
An award program implemented as a motivator to all driver trainers.

Driver Selection
To include physical examinations and motor vehicle reports (MVR).

Driver Training Program
Driver qualifications should be established and documented and procedures used to require that all drivers be certified prior to using any driver training vehicles.

Vehicle Maintenance Program
All vehicles should be regularly maintained with written schedules outlining all work done to each vehicle.
